My name is Ryan Stone, and I am The Prosperity Professor.
I came from a well educated family of teachers, doctors, and educated professionals. My father is a practicing civil litigator in San Diego, and my mother retired from teaching after 33 years in the public school system. I love my pets, gardening, skateboarding, and playing paintball on the weekend. Even from a young age, I was taught that the most valuable life one can lead would be in the service of others.
My parents hold having an education in high regard, and travel was a big piece in that. While growing up, I was blessed to be able to visit places on almost every continent including Africa, Europe, Australia, Asia and South America. From a young age through my young adult years, I was able to experience or witness the very best joys, and the very worst suffering all over the world. This sparked a desire inside me that has existed ever since; I believe my place here on Earth is to bring joy to others and help anyone I can.
After completing high school in San Diego, California, I pursued and completed a Bachelor’s Degree in philosophy and a Masters degree in Curriculum Design from the University of San Francisco. As a philosophy major I learned to ask questions… BIG questions! Answers to life-type questions. I studied the writings of intellectuals and events from Ancient Greece to Rome to today’s America and the patterns punctuated throughout that timeline. Following my mother’s footsteps I became a credentialed teacher and taught in San Francisco and Oakland from 2013-2020. Here again I saw a huge disparity. I taught at high schools in San Francisco that cost $25,000 a year in tuition! And also at a title 1 charter school not 10 miles away, in West Oakland where 99% of students receive free lunch. It was here that my desire to help those in need find prosperity came to full fruition.
My altruistic thinking parents, my studies of the past, my travels abroad, and my experience working in privileged and underprivileged schools all combined to make me fascinated with the formula to the good life, and I became a student of success. As a teacher I constantly was trying to answer the question: How does one student succeed, when another fails? Is it luck? Timing? Practice? Environment? Opportunity?
Or is it a combination of all of those factors?
I’ve turned this focus towards finances. What makes someone financially successful? Is it luck? Timing? Environment? Opportunities? Or a combination of all here yet again?
After studying financial concepts from dozens of industry leaders, and hundreds of rate cards and case studies I’ve teamed up with some of the best leaders in the financial planning business, innovative minds for investing, and community growers all to do one thing: help others increase the joy in their lives that comes from financial security. Since 2018 I’ve helped families start savings plans for their kids, parents protect their income, essential workers get critical health protection and dozens of individuals secure guaranteed tax-exempt retirement income.
I strive to be able to help anyone with a decent discretionary budget obtain financial freedom in 5 years or less.
